Infusion Therapy

In simple terms, infusion therapy refers to the process in which patients receive medications via needles or catheters in a vein. Receiving this care at home rather than in a healthcare facility or other care setting is a more cost-effective option, and is referred to as “home infusion therapy.” Medications or fluids are administered directly into the bloodstream through a needle or catheter usually intravenously (IV). It can also be given epidural, intramuscular, and subcutaneously.
